About: The Compare & Contrast Map is a tool that helps pupils write a comparative essay. Pupils are guided through writing 3 different styles of comparison essays. To begin, students identify 2 things that they wish to compare and or contrast.

Then they choose if they want to write one of the following:

• a "whole to whole" essay, 
• a "similarities to differences" essay, or 
• a "point to point" essay. 

Pupils are then guided through the types of information they should put in each part of their essay.
